i think it is manufacturing defect. call your manufacturer.always, in initial years of purchase of laptops , it is better to take warrenty although it costs some.

Did you try to insert your flash drive to another pc or laptop to verify that your flash drive is working.
If it is working, then your laptop has a problem or your usb port is broken.
