Hey guys,

what are your thoughts on the mobile marketing stuff that is going around at the moment?

Anyone tried it or have some in-depth knowledge they would like to share?

Hey Robin.
I'm not in any rush to jump on the bandwagon until the creases are ironed out, and the results start pouring in. I've heard good things from the people marketing it, but what do we expect!? It could be hype for all we know. It seems feasible, but then you still need a "mailing" list, so you gotta wonder how much of a goldmine it really is. After the novelty wears off this ridiculous mobile "pocket laptop" fad, and people's eyes start getting sore from staring at a cigarette packet sized screen to read pages, I think marketers and customers alike will run scrambling back to the internet.
It could go either way, so I remain positively skeptical lol.

Also did one of the campaigns that he does and I did it (verbatim) and it worked out

65,987 impressions

5 people signed up

cost $52 bucks

BTW this is the re hash of his last product ( CellPhone Treasure)

Hey sinbad,
What was the product in question?
'Mobile Marketing' or 'Mobile Monopoly' or something else?

Wow, stung.

I did get an email from the mobile monopoly fella saying he was reducing
the price from $197 to $77....hmmm not a great sign.

How did you go with the cellphone treasure?

I bought Mobile Monopoly and tried one of the proven campaigns, where he got 6 cents clicks. Well,  guess what, the highest bid is now $1.68. No far, no movement on my budget.

Just to give you an update as of last year Google has bought out Admob so expect the prices to rise now as they can see the money is there and with all the hype about now I am sure they will go after a few more... so the only Mobile Monopoly will be GOOGLE  Roll Eyes

I have run several mobile CPA campaigns, and my best ones where only able to break even.

I tried just building a list with mobile ads and it worked really well, however, 90% of the subscribers where international (non English speaking).  With a list of just over 100 lead and a nice relationship building a/r series, I was unable to make any sales (CB products, CPA offers)

The cost per click is going up and up across all of the networks.  My biggest issue is that when you narrow down the demographics you want to serve your ads to, the cpc goes through the roof.

I did go through Mobile Monopoly.  It's a decent beginners guide, but the proven campaigns are a load of BS.  We all now that you can not simply copy and paste a campaign from some one else and have it magically make you money.  What works for me does not necessarily work for you.

I think there is a ton of potential with mobile and it currently is the 'Wild West' of electronic marketing.

Remember when everyone wanted the #1 position for one-word searches? Time was that more than half of searches were only one word, but searchers have grown a lot more sophisticated since then. One-word searches rarely found what searchers were looking for, and comprise far less of the mix nowadays. It's just one way that search marketing is getting more specific...
