How to get traffic with Youtube videos

Hello,
I have created some videos and post them on Youtube, but I don't see any traffic that come from this site from my log.
How do I get traffic from Youtube videos?
Is there any trick?

Hi brownr72,

There could be many reasons for this.

Firstly, you should submit all your videos to multiple sites. Use TubeMogul (free video submission to over 50 sites) or if you can afford it, TrafficGeyser (better).

Make sure you use appropriate keywords in your tags (this goes for everything, not just video).

You can ask people to view your video as a favour, just to bump up the numbers.

If your link from your video is directly to a squeeze page, then I would do the following:
Link to your videos using article marketing, press releases, posted comments on niche-related blogs, etc. Everything you can find the time to do (else outsource this stuff) to create links back to your videos. Tweet, facebook and myspace your videos. Really there are lots of ways to create links to your videos.

However! If your link is to a blog, or some other non-squeeze page, you may just want to use those resources to link directly to your landing page, and spend the time creating more videos.

Some handy hints regarding video marketing once you get traffic:

You really should be tracking the clickthrough ratio to your site. (Compare videos views, to your site traffic views).
You can also check "Insight" for your video views in youtube, to see how far people generally watch them. A lot of people will leave at a certain point in a video. Just prior to that exit point, you can introduce your clickable link (you-tube only) plus a visible url in the video, to make sure it is not a wasted view.
(If your video is embeddable and people view your videos on other people's sites, then those clickable links won't work on those other sites, and all the information in your tags in youtube will obviously also be missing). So don't forget to include a visible url on the video itself.
Using insights on your youtube account will also give you some ideas to think about why people leave at certain points - and fix accordingly.
