I agree with the OP. Content is the King of SEO. If you have fresh and updated contents, you can easily attract search engine traffic. Most of other artificial ranking methods cannot bring the results what contents can offer. Also you can mix other methods like on-page optimization and backlinks to get higher ranking. One factor alone will not able to win the search engine game. When you are writing contents make sure to consider on-page factors. Properly optimized contents can bring huge traffic.
