A Short Word About Backlinks:
Backlinks are integral to every aspect of your internet marketing strategy whether it be articles, videos, link exchanges, etc. You need backlinks.

In my experience I've found that if you're going to focus your backlink campaign energy on anything then focus on what has the greatest impact.

This has to be arguably
1)Hubpages (Squidoo, Hubpages.com, etc)
2)Articles (Zimbio,Ezine,GoArticles) and
3)Blog comments (from relevant blogs)

Wait a minute! What about Social Bookmarking? Well bookmarks are considered "soft links" and although they give short bursts of traffic they provide real long-term value for search engine rankings. Make them less than 20% of your total website backlinks or you may get penalized.

1) Hubpages - You only need to focus on two main sites. Squidoo(http://www.squidoo.com) and Hubpages (http://www.hubpages.com). Build out a really in-depth, hub/lens of value and indiscreetly point your lens back to your site. Keep updating your hubpage/lens as time moves on to keep it fresh. You will be rewarded and this type of link is invaluable in the long-run

2) Articles - You only need to focus on three main sites. Ezinearticles (http://www.ezinearticles.com), Zimbio (http://www.zimbio.com) and GoArticles (http://www.goarticles.com). Ezine gives more long-lasting link juice while GoArticles is good for a quicker short-burst items such as news stories and celebrity gossip. There are other great article sites, but you're a successful webCEO so you're BUSY right?!! Like I said you only have a limited amout of time so spend it wisely and NO duplicate content -- reword if you're really lazy.

3) Comments - This is where I see many young marketers go wrong. They waste there time on low PR, random topic blogs. This may even hurt your ranking. Listen up! You only want backlinks from your site from High PR, High Authority blogs such as edu blogs. There are only a couple out there but use a free tool like EduBlogFinder (http://http://www.edublogfinder.com) and combine it with Seoquake. Only leave meaningful comments so they wont get deleted on edu blogs of PR3 or above. You only need 3 of these a day. That's it!

I'd love to see someone do a case study and only follow this exact strategy on a non-ranked website of 10 pages or more. I assure you that it will be ranked top 10 for a few long-tail keywords in less than month. Prove me wrong!

Well, I'm just trying to provide "quality" posts. Yes, they are a copy-paste, but copy-pasting resources is not bad!

I actually disagree with you, Karan especially with limiting the web 2.0 sites you use. You need backlinks from dfferent IP's and though lots of links from the same site works, then variety works better. I am sure that one could get a site ranking with the methods you described, but it's also possible to sail around the world, but you could do that faster by flying;)

I remembered your from somewhere, and I googled it and I saw that you were my competitor with the  List Profit Method release of Jani G.

I believe you were in the top 3 on launch day. (I got deindexed on launch day:/, the day after launch day I got nr.1, and stayed there till today) Eventhough I made some sales after launch day....

The methods you use are quite similar as vita vee's mentions in his course......

Yes I was, but I didn't take this launch very seriously. I had a little review page, with a link to the sales page, no bonus or anything. Congratulation on your sales I didn't manage to get any.

So what's your site or do you build a new site for each product launch?

New site for almost every launch.
Sometimes like now, I use my site of jani g's , list profit method (listprofitmethodreview . com) for promoting a new launch called 'profit instruments'. Because I noticed that when one of the keywords of the product is already in my URL, I do not need to create a new domainname. The results are often the same.... And for this example, my site of jani.g's launch already has PR2... Most say (like me), that PR doesn't affect rankings, but somehow I always somewhere hope that it does....

But currently I'm also thinking of creating a site like urs. one site, with all the reviews on it......

What is the prevailing thinking on using KW rich "anchor text" comments v. inserting your main web url into the web address field?

I am of the opinion that its worth the extra time & effort to use an anchor text comment with the KW you want to ranked on v. using just your www.mywebsite.com in the web address field.

I did YT a video on this when I saw a major bump in my traffic and alexa score after leaving an anchor text comment on mashable.com

Sorry - I disagree with the thread's first post almost entirely.

Sure, you can get some relatively low quality backlinks from hubpages an the like and they work ok. But Google was onto that trick back in 2008 so as far as seo value goes, it's limited.

But plenty of other links beat them in terms of quality.

Guest blogging in return for a link or two.

Link begging.

Link bait that goes viral beats them all hands down by a country mile.

Free traffic usually raises the eyebrow of Big G and moreover, if you use adsense, it will get banned eventually.
