But there's some good content in there. Newbie stuff. Nothing advanced. Just remember: keywords, keywords, keywords. That's half the job. 3% approximately in your pages for your major keywords. Overdo it and google smacks rather hard. Underdo it, and they ignore you. It's a little game of balance.

I am somewhat inclined to disagree. I Know I have Heard that 2 to 3% number before... But tell me , there are plenty of WP sites that I know of that the number is ratio is way off from 2 % and these site are ranking on the 1st page for their keywords...

How is this if the rule is a strict 2% ?

It's not a strict rule. Different marketers say different percentages. Anywhere between 2 and 4%. Any more and google thinks (and usually rightly so) that pages are being keyword stuffed. Any less and pages are seen as less relevant. It's a fine balance, but without knowing google's algorithm people worked this range of keywords out by trial and error.

The reason other sites with fewer search phrases or keywords may outrank the 3%-ers is vast and varied. SEO is not purely about keywords. There are many factors at play. Such as:

* the type of page used (google love wordpress because they asume wordpress is usually used for blogs which largely have continual fresh content).
* The age of the domain name.
* Number of backlinks.
* Quality of backlinks.
* Page layout.
* Locations of keywords on the pages.
* Video presence
* Ways keywords are highlighted - bold, italics etc
* Anchored keywords
* Arrangement of keywords in title tags
* Number of pages with similar keyword phrases

As you can see, the list is long, and there are more factors than those I just listed. However with all things at play, to rank well in google over the long term, as more competition arrives, it is a smart thing to optimize each one of these components in your sites to ensure your high ranking. That's why I always suggest starting with the keyword density. Other things can be adjusted relatively easily. But changing your percentages means re-writing all your content. Who wants to waste that time?

look like i reached on the exact place i want?

I am working on a keyword, it was on page 7 of Google when i watched it on last Thursday.

After that i watch almost 2,3 times daily it suddenly disappeared and not in top 20 pages of Google, on the other side , webmaster showing me the position of that keyword is 73.

i have checked Google ban to, its not banned by Google.

can please some one explained me, i am very worried. Cry
