I haven't tried this yet but I think creating and submitting an original report/ebook to www.free-ebooks.net could be a great way of getting lots of free targeted traffic.

If you have a look down the left hand side you can see different categories.

I clicked on "marketing" and noticed the number of downloads each ebook was getting. Many are getting 4000+ downloads, some have over 10,000 downloads.

Imagine submitting a free report with a link to an affiliate program or a link to your website promoting your own product.

Imagine how much traffic you could get by sumbitting 5, 10, 20 ebooks or more.

This is next on my things to do list..

The problem here lies in the fact how popular your ebook can be. I guess when you are clicking and seeing many downloads, see whether it has been sorted by popularity or not. If not, its a good go to get into it. Else, I am skeptical about it.

I think this has a lot to do with luck. You might hit jackpot and get a lot of visits, but this is not sure.
 If you provide a very good and unique ebook, you can get a lot of visits.

Yup, I agree with eddyz, its all about making yourself a brand. If you can promote well, fine... Else your ebook might lie in heaps of dust even though it is useful.

Hi guys and thanks to Profit Devil for the site. I hope one day I have an e-book to submit there. But one thing what I think is that, it should be hard to promote only at the beginning, but if you  have a really good book, then it sells itself. People start recommending it and so on. Even Harry Potter hasn't always been  a name millions of people would buy without knowing if it's actually any good. It's all about making yourself or your book series known. The first one is always the hardest to do.

Remove the mercedes benz thing from your post, you can put it in your description, you don't have to put it in every post.

Now, on topic : Yes , social networks are one of the greatest and cheapest ways to get traffic, if not completely free, if you are the guy with the facebook advertising to your fans or tweeting to your followers, but most of the times we don't have time to build big facebook or tweeter accounts. So all we are doing is pay someone who has many followers and fans to advertise us . And it works, it's very cheap and if you know what to say in your advertisment, if you know to make it look less like an advertisement and more like an actuall message you would get from a friend, then you get even more traffic

Hi Thanks for that link.I have now joined and published my ebook. I will tell you how I get on. soon. It was only $20 to register. I have published in self improvement and there were only 14 other ebooks there. ALL of them had, had over 2000 downloads!!!

Isn't that an old site, so the ebooks would be old too right? It probably took them years just to get to that four thousand downloads.

Well yeah the traffic is good. They kept building their site for all these years but I'm saying that it took years to get that many downloads.
